Interactive maps
Interactive maps are electronic cards with information connected to geographical contexts.
By using the geocoding service, users can add their data to the map, select symbols from the library or use their own legends, integrate the map onto their website, and share it with the public.
The map improves data perception and helps evaluate processes, collect statistics and show patterns.
Crowdsourcing is the creation of projects with geo-data wiki-editing options in order to solve various problems by obtaining the required services, ideas, or content through an appeal for assistance to the online community.
The editor determines the crowdsourcing mechanism that is most suitable for the project:
- all objects are created and edited by users (wiki)
- users create and edit only their own objects
- "moderator" assignment – for users with the first type of rights.
Web-GIS is a type of geographic information system based on web technologies of data access. The use of web-based technology prevents users from becoming attached to a particular workplace, and provides access to data and system functionality via the Internet through a web browser. At the same time, the Web-GIS functionality is not inferior to a desktop geographic information system: the user can add, edit and analyse data, search for the necessary information, use maps, assign geographic identifiers to objects and much more.
Remote work with Web-GIS can become a full-scale alternative to a centralised server. In addition to its own internal geographic information system, Web-GIS can be used as a resource that provides access to external users.
Completed projects: "Bear", WWF projects - valuable forests in Russia, monitoring of endangered animal species real-time monitoring service "Atomflot".
