The image of Sudak was received received on August 2, 2018 from WorldView-2 satellite.

Sudak is a resort located in the south-eastern Crimea on the Black Sea coast, in the valley of the river of the same name. It is bounded from the west by the Krepostnaya mountain, and from the east by the cape Alchak. From the north, Sudak is closed by a range of mountains covered with beech and oak forests.

The number of cloudy days per year Sudak is 84. The swimming season is the longest in the Crimea — 138 days, from early June to mid-October.

Presumably, the city was founded in the beginning of the III century AD. Now the population is more than 16,000.

Sudak is considered the cradle of the Crimean winemaking and homeland of domestic champagne. In 1804 the first school of winemaking in Russia was opened here.
