AgroNTI-2020 Contest: See You in 2021!

On December 23, 2020, the All-Russian AgroNTI-2020 contest for pupils living in rural areas and small towns was officially closed. In 2020, over 32 thousand applications were submitted by participants with over 13.5 thousand applications to the AgroKosmos contest category overseen by SCANEX and Digital Earth LLC. The All-Russian AgroNTI-2020 contest was organized by the Innovation Assistance Foundation and the non-profit Association of Agriculture and Fisheries Educational Institutions, as well as supported by the Department of Scientific and Technological Policy and Education within the Russian Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Education. The contest partners were 19 agricultural universities and the Federal Children's Ecological and Biological Center.

The contest included in-absentia and in-person rounds, as well as the final competition. The winners were selected in early December; the winners list is published here. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the final award ceremony was held online.

Participants were welcomed by Ivan Bortnik, Advisor to the Director General of the Innovation Assistance Foundation, Viktor Berdyshev, Head of Association of Agriculture and Fisheries Educational Institutions, Vyacheslav Gladkov, Acting Governor of Belgorod Region, Andrey Travnikov, Governor of Novosibirsk Region, Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industries of the Republic of Tatarstan, Alexei Yagudin, Olympic champion, and many others. Stanislav Aleinik, President Interim of Belgorod State Agricultural University named after V. Gorin, who initiated the AgroNTI for schoolchildren in the Belgorod region, spoke live from a studio in Belgorod. The contest winners shared as well their success stories.

Marina Voronina, Head of the Education Projects Department at SCANEX Group, also addressed the schoolchildren emphasizing that the gained experience will help them in mastering key competencies in the era of digital economy, as well as in choosing the future career path.
