The image of the Primorsko-Akhtarsk district was received on March 6, 2017 from SPOT 6 satellite.

Primorsko-Akhtarsk town can be seen in the upper right part of the image. It is washed by the Sea of Azov from the west and by the Beisugsky Liman from the north. Beisugsky Liman is separated from the sea by a 14-kilometer sand-shell Yasenskaya spit.

The population of Primorsko- Akhtarsk is more than 30 000 people. The basis of the city’s economy is fishing, fish farming, and fish processing.

A unique plantation of Indian lotus, created in 1952, is located in the Primorsko-Akhtarsk district. The lotuses bloom from mid-July to mid-August for 3–4 days, exuding a delicate aroma.

There is a belief that if one sees the lotus bloom, he will be lucky for a whole year.
