On the image: Talmenskiy District, Altai Territory, Russia

The image of the Talmenskiy District of the Altai Territory, as well as the northern part of the Pervomaisky district and the urban district of Barnaul was received on September 4, 2017 from SPOT 6 satellite.

The Ob River and the Kislukhinsky Reserve, which was established in 1976 as a hunting farm, can be seen on the image. In 2007 the reserve was transformed into a complex landscape reserve to preserve the natural complex and the floodplains of the Ob River, and to protect moose, roe deer, squirrel, beaver and other species.

The most part of the Kislukhinsky reserve is located within the Sredneobskiy forest area, where the parts of relatively dry pine forest alternate with boggy aspen-birch forests — sogra. Part of the reserve is located in the flood plain of the Ob River, which is characterized by extensive flood meadows with willow trees, light poplar-willow forests, cane reeds, as well as a well-developed network of streams, vents and lakes.
