High-resolution multicolored image of Khanty-Mansiysk was received on May 18, 2016 from WorldView-3 satellite. Khanty-Mansiysk is the largest of the centers of the autonomous regions of Russia. The population of the city is more than 96 000 people.
Khanty-Mansiysk is located in the bend of the Irtysh River. About half of the city's territory is occupied by a natural park “Samarovsky Chugas”. The word “chugas” in translation from the language of the Irtysh Khanty means "A lonely island covered with a dark taiga and rising above the floodplain of the river".
Khanty-Mansiysk regularly occupies high places in various ratings - on the level of life, on security, on improvement, etc.
