The territory of Cherepovets can be seen on the image received from SPOT 7 satellite on May 17, 2017.
Cherepovets is the largest city in the population of the Vologda region. It is located at the confluence of the Yagorba River in the Sheksna River (left tributary of the Volga), near the Rybinsk Reservoir, 126 km from Vologda. The city dates back to the 14th century.
The basis of the economic potential of Cherepovets are the enterprises of ferrous metallurgy and chemical complex. The city has a cargo port. Most buildings in the city refer to the Soviet period. In the vicinity of Cherepovets there are many beautiful Russian villages.
